I was hesitant to order this SSD since I had read about certain Air’s that would not accept a drive larger than 64 or 80gb. So, I took AMP at their word and ordered this 128gb SSD. I did have one or two boots that did not recognize the drive, but after unplugging the battery and reseating the pata zif everything was great. Install of Snow Leopard was quick and I was able to restore everything from a CCC clone on a USB drive in no time. This is the fastest this lightweight has been and I love it. Seems like a new unit. Installation was not that bad either (9 to 10 minutes), so if your Rev. A Air is out of warranty as mine is, I highly recommend this upgrade.

The original hard drive (80GB) failed on my MacBook Air, which is already out of warranty. I was informed by an Apple technician at an Apple store, that he could replace the drive for $280. Upgrading with Apple to SSD was not an option. When I found this SSD drive on Amazon and a positive review I was ready to take the plunge and upgrade on my own. The SSD arrived in a tiny box via first class mail. The upgrade went well with the hardest part being able to line up the tiny ZIF connectors. If the Mac does not boot up, make sure the drive is still connected.

i wish that Active Media supply with the SSD a case and USB cable to activate the Carbon Copy so we can copy all Date from Old HDD to the new SSD without hassle and troubles. i have asked the supplier so many times for this housing and cable, and they ignored my emails and not answering me.
